Honorable Mentions | More Useful To Do List Apps.So far, though, the core set of features are exactly what I need in a productivity app and I’m confident that using this app consistently will contribute greatly to my future success. I have yet to become totally acclimated with the app and am still learning through all the different features and options offered.

  • Quick Access badge (just launches the app, not that useful)Īll in all, after using TickTick for the past week I can say that it was worth the purchase (for the premium version).
  • With the premium version of TickTick, you have access to a number of different widgets that you can add to the home screen of your Android device. Being able to add a functional view of a specific app to your home screen has been a great way for me to consume information quickly and to take action quickly. One of the main features I love about Android is their home screen widgets. I switched to an Android phone after years of using iPhones. I’ll be doing another post on how I’ve been able to use this feature to start doing things I know I should but could never get into. Although a habit tracker wasn’t on my wishlist for a productivity app, this was a very pleasant surprise and I actually found myself really liking it. TickTick offers a unique feature specifically designed to help you form such habits. I’m a firm believer in the importance of discipline and positive habits in achieving one’s goals. And with an Android widget on my home screen (more on this later), I can see exactly what I need to be doing at a glance. I typically only use the one day view and it has been so useful in keeping me focused on my day’s activities. It comes with a one day view and a three day view. I love the timeline view in TickTick because it gives me a visual representation of my schedule. This second part has been extremely helpful in combating things like analysis paralysis where I dwell on things for too long instead of trying to complete them.

And second, time boxing my tasks keeps me focused. First, it let’s me know at any given time what I should be working on. I find that scheduling to-do items in time blocks is a great way to keep myself on track. Without some planning, it’s easy just to ignore the list and go do something else (which I find myself doing more than I care to admit). If you’re like me, sometimes having a to-do list just isn’t enough.
